Sweat & Spirit & Screams & Swings

Sliding, swishing, floating
Across this wood floor, striving
To move as clouds flow through the blue

Swinging, lunging, launching
Driven to strike in controlled abandonment
Towards an uncertain tomorrow

Tossing doubts and reservations away
We throw ourselves forward so our strikes may land
With both stinging intent and disciplined care

A respected teacher once said:
“We train in difficult things because it makes us better people.”
Seeking meaning in the struggle
To glow like the stars among us
We find self-improvement in the effort
We find connections in the harmony
So at the end of the day
We’re all, in at least some small way
Better people than when we woke
